NL Celebrates IV Day
We
celebrated IVCF’s 49th anniversary here in the region
last November 23, 2002 at Sleepy Hollow, Camp John Hay,
Baguio City.
It
was a very casual activity.
We did some action songs, small group Bible study, exciting
games.
It was a wonderful picnic fellowship.
We were few but we enjoyed the day.
We ended in prayer and worship as we ushered the fellowship
into a more grand celebration next year. IVCF
Northern Luzon’s 1st Regional Assembly
Last
September 28, 2002, we had our very first regional assembly.
We held it at Philippine Nurses Association Hall at Session
Road, Baguio City. Our theme was “Serving Together in Northern Luzon”.
It
was well represented. Graduates,
students and friends from Baguio, La Union and Pangasinan came and
celebrated the historical event.
Miss Elsie Calalang, our National Director, graced the
occasion and gave a very encouraging message.
Miss
Helen Monta, Vice President of GCF Baguio gave a brief history of
how IVCF started in Baguio City. She shared that it started in University of the Philippines
Baguio in late 60’s. Likewise,
Mr. Boy Cabugao, Chairman of GCF Pangasinan shared about IVCF
beginnings in Pangasinan.
There was also a time of prayer, worship, games, fellowship
and good food. We were
amazed at God’s goodness as we “went down the memory lane” and
learn about our “ninunos”.
Indeed, it was through His goodness that we are now a part of
the IVCF Family.
Ilocos Sur Visit
The
IVCF-NL staff team, (Erickson and Dot Velardo and Roselle Rosario,
visited Ilocos Sur last November 28 to December 1, 2002.
They were able to meet with the 2 ISCF groups at Ilocos Sur
National High School, and then started a college group at University
of Northern Philippines.
They
also coducted an overnight camp.
Thirty-seven delegates came.
Mostly high schoolers.
They also took part in their worship service and celebrated
with them.
Their hosts and partners in the student ministry there, Ptr.
Art and Theody Pimentel, with the Precious People Church, gave them
a warm hospitality.
They praise God for being able to visit the area and minister
to them and return home blessed and encouraged.
